    Introduce Yourself
  • Second Game Crash?

Nintendo, once the company that saved gaming, is now facing backlash for filing patents that could let it claim ownership over common gameplay mechanics, sparking fears it could stifle creativity and harm both major studios and indie developers alike.

  • So… Doctor Who Just Regenerated Into Rose Tyler?

According to writer Robert Shearman, the 15th Doctor’s regeneration into Billie Piper has basically put a full stop on the entire Doctor Who story. That’s a wild way to end things if he’s right. After all these years, do you think this is a fitting way to close the loop or does it feel more like the show’s run out of ideas?

A note on how we want discussions to feel here

It’s pretty easy to get shouted down or censored on most big platforms these days. Posts disappear, people pile on, and it starts to feel like you can’t say what you actually think without starting a fight.

That’s not what we’re trying to do here.

This community should be a space where you can just say what you think, whether you loved something, hated it, or have an opinion that doesn’t match everyone else’s. Different takes are what make discussions interesting.

All we ask is to keep it respectful. Disagree all you want, just don’t turn it into a mess.

We’re really glad to have you all here. The mix of opinions, debates, and personalities is what makes Bounding Into Comics a special community and we can’t wait to see more of it.

Power Rangers Guardian Force (Pilot Script)

I’m working on my own Power Rangers original series. Below is the link to the script doc. It’s available publicly for reading and viewing. However it is still a WIP and I will be updating it whenever I can. I used to have an amazing script writing program on my iOS device, but that app has long since been deleted by Apple for reasons unknown. So I have to work from scratch using basic knowledge and memory from my high school days taking film classes. Also I’ve had to use AI to help me find actual movie scripts as references to help me learn from other writers. I am not using AI to write this at all. I am doing all this myself, with just a little assist from the web to help me understand proper script writing techniques, terms, and format: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1VLZ_SryvYeRLNwryPO1FEgMyiR4JsaMjM4POU3qCgBA/edit?usp=drivesdkIMG_8914.jpeg

Second Game Crash?

So I’m sure a lot of you gamers have already hears about Nintendo’s terrible patent files and lawsuits, but here’s the irony. The same company that once saved and revolutionized gaming, could soon destroy it. Now Nintendo wants to claim ownership of certain game mechanics that have since become a staple in many video game franchises. Eveything from magical weapons, to color shading and character silhouettes, to summoning allies and capturing monsters. It’s absolutely disgusting how a company like Nintendo has gone from a once proud gaming giant into another soulless corporation fatcat, looking to make money through various sinister means— no matter how many customers get hurt or caught in the legal crossfire. I believe that if Nintendo keeps doing this, eventually it’ll force other games to adapt, and remove certain key features or programs that Nintendo may target. Not only that but, even Indie Developers are not safe from Nintendo’s prowling gaze. We need to stop this madness somehow before it’s too late. Otherwise gaming will end with Nintendo’s greed beign teh soul cause of a second game crash.

Greetings Nerd Culture. My name is ArtStar.

I’m just a native SoCal looking to make some friends in various fandoms, be it Star Wars, Power Rangers, ATLA, Anime, Comics, etc. Whatever fandoms suit my fancy I suppose. I am an aspiring writer, artist, filmmaker, narrator, and photographer. Of course, as an artist I love all forms of artwork from the classic to the more modern stuff. I’m a bit shy, but I am friendly. I love nerd culture and I hope to see more of the fandom unite to create more stuff.

Favorite Board Game of the Week?

As the title says! What's your favorite board game that you're playing this week? I thought this would be a fun thing we could do week to week, to see what new games everyone has, and what old games are getting some current love :)

20251007_123011.jpg
I'll go first! My FLGS had a bunch of copies of Whitehall on super duper clearance (like $10 bucks). They said they had an event, and ended up with a ton of extra stock.

Whitehall is a newer simpler version of a game called Letters From Whitechapel. It is a "cat and mouse" style game, where one person plays as Jack, moving around the board silently, and doing murders. The rest of the players play as investigators, and try to take on Jack.

My partner and I are getting a ton of mileage out of this game just playing as 2 players (though we tried it as a full group of 4 recently and had just as much fun). Highly recommend :) I've played both Whitehall and Letters From Whitechapel, and I'll take the new Whitehall personally.

Movies That Hit Different When You Rewatch Them

Been going through some old movies lately and they hit a lot differently than I remembered. Just rewatched The Fifth Element and the costumes, the effects, even the weird humor... it’s all still so fun and kind of wild compared to today’s stuff.

What old movies do you go back to when you just want that nostalgia fix? Any that actually feel better now than when you first saw them?

Fan Theory Contest Winners!

The contest has wrapped up and we got several great submissions, appreciate everyone who participated!

I've got our winners below and I'll send you a PM to claim your prize. As a reminder, winners were randomly selected! So drumroll please 🥁... here are our winners!

1st place: @Ordnance Jay Packard
My theory is that some time in the early 1960s, George Lucas killed someone, and in that persons belongings was the script for Star Wars: A New Hope, and a rough outline for The Empire Strikes Back.

2nd place: @RooftopKorean
I have this theory about the Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue Version. Don't know if any of you are familiar with MissingNo? Which was a glitch / unofficial pokemon that could multiply items in your inventory. Game Freak, the developers, claimed it was a glitch but I suspect it was trimmed content. There was supposed to be a Pokemon named MissingNo and a side quest to catch it during the post game. But due to deadlines, it was cut from the game. But the devs screwed up and weren't able to entirely remove it from the game. Thus, the MissingNo glitch.

3rd place: @oldsicily
My theory for the upcoming Avengers crossover events is that either the Sentry will be used to help Doom in his plans (viz. the Void will side with Doom or be used by him) OR that role may be possibly be given to Jean Grey/Phoenix (Dark Phoenix). As they are both omega level powers, it makes sense that Doom would use them in his schemes. Or Marvel being Marvel could drop the ball again and do something stupid, as usual.

Congrats on the wins and I'll reach out to send you your prizes! We'll be doing more contests like this in the future so keep an eye out 👀

Hello from Denver!!!!

Hello Bounding into Comics community,

I'm T.Y. Lee and I'm a huge fan of comic books, manga, and manhwa. I’ve been into comics since I was a kid. Over the years I’ve gotten into a mix of mainstream stuff and indie titles. Also, been getting into many web comics as well lately.

I also recently completed my own graphic novel project, which has been a wild ride. It’s been cool learning firsthand just how much work goes into bringing a story to life. (If anyone’s curious, it’s called Return of the Rooftop Koreans, a 148 page graphic novel, that's now on Kickstarter.)

Looking forward to chatting with you all and learning from fellow fans and creators here.
