Zootopia got everything right, except the popcorn bucket

So I finally got a hold of the Zoootopia 2 popcorn bucket and I have to say I wasn't impressed. In a world where films become available on digital within weeks of being released, I think people deserve a little more motivation to hit the theatre and, for me, a stunning popcorn bucket is that thing. With films like Dune practically selling out buckets at every theatre, I think Zootopia could have done better here

Totally fair take. The merch is half the fun of going to the theatre now that movies hit digital so fast. When Dune can sell out buckets because they actually make them look collectible, there’s no excuse for a big Disney property to phone it in. Zootopia 2 could’ve made something people would actually want to display and collect, but instead it's definitely throwaway promo.

I agree. I feel like ever since the unintentional Dune Popcorn design, franchises have been trying to one up each other in the popcorn bucket game. I’ve seen buckets that light up, play music, they can be used as toys, etc. Disney could have done a lot more for this film, maybe even make Gary the Snake the handle or something along those lines.

This is kind of funny since Pochita isn’t even in the new Chainsaw Man movie apart from the opening.

I’ve almost caved on a few popcorn buckets, but could never decide what to do with them after their initial use. Display them? Put popcorn in them at home? I’m far too lazy for all of that.

Disney really hit a winner here. I won't be shocked if Zootopia 3 gets a bigger budget allocation than Lion King and Frozen in the next financial year. I'm yet to watch the movie personally but the reviews are super-enticing

Definitely!. I would personally recommend starting with Frozen if you wanna enjoy Disney's animation film collection to the fullest. Zootopia will only spice it up. You can definitely put your hopes up with these ones btw.

The story is actually more inclusive in the sequel. They seem to be attracting teens and young adults, and I can see it rival Lion King pretty soon
