Hi friends. What is your creative endeavour or favourite hobby? What inspires you to do that?
For me, it's game design and songwriting. Ever since playing Pokemon and Final Fantasy games when I was a kid, I've been a having burning desires to
make my own worlds. Usually because I want to fix "the incorrectness I saw in the games I played", one, and two, because I wanna express my adventure desires. On songwriting, I think I have natural flair to write songs. Although I'm still quite new to playing guitar acoustic...

Sounds cool. I mostly draw, it’s just the easiest way for me to get ideas out of my head and somewhere I can see them later.

When you start on a game idea, do you usually build the world first or the mechanics?

I’ve failed at a lot of the hobbies I’ve had because I work hard and typically spend my days off trying to relax or catching up on chores. Super boring everyday life stuff, I know.

I’ve dabbled in creative writing and drawing (I have an associates in graphic design). I cosplay and go to cons with my wife from time to time. I love video games, but rarely have the energy or brain power to play them. Big movie collector that’s also collected comics, Funko, and Dragon Ball cards off and on for years. I currently collect Dragon Ball and Godzilla figures/statues. I have a novel I’ve been trying to finish for over a decade. I also have far too many cats.

So lots of stuff, really.

Sounds like you’ve got a ton of creative energy even if life’s been throwing curveballs. I totally get that feeling of wanting to relax but also having all these ideas bouncing around in your head. Been there. It’s awesome that you and your wife cosplay together - that’s such a fun way to keep the creative spark alive. As for collecting Dragon Ball and Godzilla stuff, that used to be right up my alley too. Every figure kinda tells a story on its own, y’know. That novel you’ve been working on for over a decade, I mean, for over a decade, - that’s some real perseverance right there. Sometimes creativity takes the scenic route, but it’s worth it in the end. You’ve clearly got a lot of passion - even if life gets busy, that fire’s still burning under the surface. Keep going!

I have three cats.

I say “working on” very loosely. The novel is a trilogy where the first part was written over a decade ago. I have the second part planned out in a handwritten outline that’s like ten pages long front and back. And I have ideas for the third part as well as the ending that has been in my head for years. The hardest part has been finding the energy to commit to it, which is what has taken the longest.

I have 14 cats, by the way. And I’m allergic. Send help.

Whatever you do, do it with all your might. Don't give up on your dreams. Never give in, never stop believing.
