Superman and Lex Luthor could work together in Man of Tomorrow

Hoult did a great job playing Lex Luthor in Superman, but that is probably as good as the character will ever get in the DCU. Recycling the same villains ì one of the reasons why Superman films failed under Snyder. I think James Gunn is better off building with the heroes rather than recycling villains if the DCU is ever gonna compete with the MCU. There are so many heroes in desperate need of an appearance alongside Superman, why recycle Luthor?

So when this was first announced I was excited but now I’m thinking to myself, you know what, that’s kind of too early to have Lex and Superman work together. That should be left for a major event film in the DCU. I know in the comics there have been many times where they’ve worked together and obviously end up going back to being enemies but it’s a different flow when you’re writing comics compared to making one narrative in one film universe.

I totally agree. I think the DCU is still too early in development to start a redemption arc for Luthor. I want to see Luthor take Brainiac on board and pose the biggest threat in the history of Superman films. High stakes drama is what we want
