So Tom Brady loved his dog "so much that he cloned it," but then. When does love for pets cross over into abuse of science

Colossal Biosciences made headlines recently after using their DNA cloning technology to bring back extinct direwolves, which was great. However, they are now extending cloning services to pet owners. I do understand the pain of losing your pet, but I remember when I got my first pet, the store owner told me that the pain of losing them is part of the love you shared when they lived, and the best form of love you can show them is by accepting their fate when it is the animal's time to go.
Tom Brady is the first client of Colossal Biosciences, it seems, since he made arrangements for a clone of his former dog to be created prior to her death. He is also an investor in the company, so he must have enjoyed an early-bird discount because the whole thing sounds super-expensive. Either way, I wanna hear from you guys, is this love or a perversion of science?
