So Eddie Murphy, of all people, couldn't take a joke!


Turns out Murphy never went back to SNL for all those years because they made a joke about his failing career.
" Catch a falling star" sure was messed up, but then, as an alum, Murphy had every right to call it out and let it go, not avoid the program for years and keep a grudge over it.
I understand him, because I wouldn't laugh at someone's career failing either, but I still think he went too far on this one. It is just comedy, sometimes it is funny and sometimes it isn't, but the point of it all is that there is no ill motive and we can always see past a bad joke. Murphy really doesn't get my vote on this one though!
 
Yeah, I get both sides of it. Comedy can definitely cross lines sometimes but it’s also kind of built on taking risks. I get why Murphy would be hurt since it was personal, but holding onto it for that long does seem a bit much. At some point I feel like you just have to shrug it off and move on
