So… Doctor Who Just Regenerated Into Rose Tyler?

According to writer Robert Shearman, the 15th Doctor’s regeneration into Billie Piper has basically put a full stop on the entire Doctor Who story.

That’s a wild way to end things if he’s right. After all these years, do you think this is a fitting way to close the loop or does it feel more like the show’s run out of ideas?

Yeah, I saw that, wild take for sure. I get the full circle idea, but it also kinda feels like they backed themselves into a corner and went, “eh, loop it back to Rose.” It’s clever on paper, but I’m not sure it really means anything story-wise.

If this is actually the end, it’s a weird note to go out on. I’d rather they just keep reinventing it like always instead of tying it off neatly.

Honestly for me, the loop should have ended with Capaldi and start back with Doctor 1. Remember that he has a granddaughter, which is never explained. But according to the OG writers, Susan is indeed a human Timelord hyrbid. And who else is a hyrbid of Time Lord and Human? River Song of course. And remember that The Doctor did indeed marry River Song, meaning that Susan is indeed his descendant. That would also mean that sometime down the timeline, Susan was born in the future and sent to the past, to Gallifrey.
