Should actors stop lending their voices and images to AI companies?

Veteran actor Michael Caine has joined a long list of actors who have provided voices to AI companies for on-demand use. In Caine's case, he has made a deal with Eleven Labs and has made a strong case for this decision. However, it is these very voices that are then used to train AI actors like the widely condemned Tilly Norwood created by Particle 6.
During the SAG-AFTRA strike in 2023, AI replacing actors was a major concern that is yet to be resolved.. However, with the very actors who are striking against AI providing voices and imagery to AI companies, it seems they are shooting themselves in the foot. So, is it time for actors to shun AI companies?

It’s such a weird situation, honestly. On one hand, I get why someone like Michael Caine would want to preserve his voice and legacy through AI, but at the same time it’s hard not to see how this blurs the lines even more for working actors who are already worried about being replaced. I just wish the industry would focus on figuring out clear rules before this gets completely out of hand

They just can't rule out AI at this point and you can always bet on a section of actors to follow the bag and train AI actors so I agree with you 100%. There needs to be a framework around this going forward and acway to regulate how AI companies get training material for their models
