Prison Break is getting a spinoff, but it feels a little blunt

Elgin James’ ‘Prison Break’ Ordered To Series At Hulu

A new chapter of 'Prison Break' is on its way as Elgin James' reboot pilot is picked up to series at Hulu.

Hulu has ordered the project which will be led by Elgin James, set in the Priso Break Universe, but not connected to Wentworth Miller's Michael Scofield or Dominic Purcell's Lincoln Burrows. I don't know, the idea of a spinoff was probably too tempting for them, but there is never going to be a Prison Break without Michael, Lincoln and Sarah for me. Anyway, I hope they have a script good enough to convince us otherwise

Yeah I get that feeling too, without Michael and Lincoln it kind of reads like a different show wearing the same brand. But I’m also curious what angle they think is strong enough to stand on its own. If they actually land the writing, people will probably forget the hesitation fast thought… if not, it’ll just be one of those spin-offs everyone pretends never happened

I don't really have anything of substance to contribute to a Prison Break convo (I only saw like, the first two episodes when they aired), but this is as good of an excuse as any to share one of my favorite title cards from the gag anime Gintama.
