Insert "I don't believe you" meme here. This is James Goon we're talking about. He's like a high school creative writing student who flunked out of the class but still thinks he's Shakespeare. He's either trying to tell too many stories at once or fails to convey what he was really going for because it's too subtle like we see here. It's like he's improvising without writing anything down or plotting it out before hitting the director's chair.
I've seen this style too often in TTRPG groups and even in my own writing. If he would just settle down and throw his ideas out in front of others first, he might actually improve. Instead we get the confusing, muddled style he's infamous for now.

I have really tried to like this season, but with Gunn being his own boss and having no one but the fans to answer to..... I am curious to see if he is going to set the bar higher for everyone else working on this new universe. Superman didn't suck but it wasn't good either, and this season of Peacemaker has been vulgar and offensive on too many levels for a comic book show.
