Comic Book Reboots: Necessary or Lazy?

Imagine your favorite character suddenly gets a reboot. Does it make you excited or have you rolling your eyes?

Honestly, it depends on the reboot. If it feels fresh but still true to the character, I’m all in, excited to see new takes and ideas. But if it looks like they just slapped a modern coat of paint on everything without understanding why we liked the original… yeah not a fan

Lazy. A reboot should happen once a decade or once a generation, not every year just to release single volumes. The reboots all suck too.

Yeah, I get that. Look at Spider-Man, how many reboots has he had in the last 20 years alone? Most of them just feel like a quick cash grab rather than a real story update
