Just finished Chainsaw Man: The Movie: Reze Arc. first half is surprisingly sweet slice-of-life with Denji, Reze, and Makima, then the Bomb Devil hits and it goes full chaos.

MAPPA’s animation is insane, and the mix of heart and blood-soaked action really works.

For those who’ve seen it: did the slower first half make the action hit harder or slow things down too much?

Yeah, I felt the same way, the slower first half actually made the chaos land harder. Spending time with Denji and Reze gave it some heart, so when everything went off the rails it actually meant something instead of just being loud action.
