The Arkham show is not coming in the DCU

As part of his Gods and Monsters early pitch after joining the MCU, James Gunn said the Arkham Show was one of his favorites. However, while speaking to Boba Talks, he confirmed that the show is not being developed by anyone at the DCU, and I actually think they are missing something important here.
In my opinion, the Arkham show would have been the DCU's behind-the-scenes view of Gotham. I mean, after watching Sofia Falcone in Penguin, I really got curious about Arkham and thought this show would expose a new side of the DC Universe that hasn't been shown on the screen yet. There is almost no DC villain that isn't linked to Arkham in one way or another, so why not show us one of the roots to the city's villainy.
However, he also confirmed that Lanterns in a central character to the DCU and that events in the show have significant connection to the whole Universe, so I'm thrilled for it.

Yeah, that’s a miss. Arkham would’ve been an easy way to show the Gotham side of the world without dragging Batman into every scene. After Penguin, it felt like the perfect follow-up.

Lanterns being a core piece is fine, I just don’t see why they couldn’t run both. Arkham would’ve been one of the few DCU shows people would actually check out on day one.

I think they have missed the opportunity to set the DCU on the same cause as MCU, especially sincethis show would have opened so much opportunity

Definitely disappointing. I am a sucker for background, backstory, character development, anything along those lines, so I would absolutely love to see them deliver more there

What a shame. Definitely would've watched this one, but likely something we'll never get to see
