What do you think of Vincent D'Onofrio as Swamp Thing?

It seems Kingpin really wants to come to the DCU. Swamp Thing is one of the DCU characters I'm praying that James Gunn gets perfectly. I'm open to a big-name actor in the role, but I don't support a popular MCU star like D'Onofrio in the role. I'm in for a surprise with this one. Someone from the sidelines, just like Corenswet would be perfect in my opinion.

Yeah, I’m with you. D’Onofrio is awesome, but dropping such a recognizable MCU face into the DCU would feel like stunt-casting. Swamp Thing needs someone who can disappear into the role, not someone where the audience immediately goes, “Oh hey, that's Kingpin.”

A left-field pick would honestly fit the character way better. Let someone unexpected own it instead of borrowing MCU energy.

Actually, many people haven't realized, but James Gunn isn't poaching a lot of MCU talent. Not even his Guardians of the Galaxy buddies. I love the way he is going about building the DCU. It is all about being new and better.
