An Interesting Scoop here for why Doctor Doom is in the MCU in Avengers Doomsday!

MytimetoShineHello is one of the most reliable sources when it comes to the MCU, so I won't be surprised if this one is also true. However, it is a weak angle for an Avengers film revenge plot for me. I'm still waiting for a Thanos-level villain, and a faceless Doctor Doom looking to kill Steve Rogers because of some accident just doesn't cut it for me.
I'm really worried that Avengers Doomsday will be a huge disappointment, but I'm still hopeful. I hope there is more to Doom's mission when the film is finally released.

If this rumor’s legit, I get why people are side eyeing it. Doom going after Steve over an accident feels kinda small for an Avengers movie. After Thanos the bar is pretty high and this doesn’t exactly scream universe-shaking threat
I'm still struggling to understand how they make Doom a real big threat on this one. My other issue is that I'm not sure whether Doctor Strange will get to play the major role he deserves in Doomsday and Secret Wars, and the result could be too much patch work which is never a good thing

I just don't find Doom that compelling personally. I'm happy to be proven wrong, but out of all the villains I'm familiar with, he just doesn't even crack the top 10 for me
Well, in this context, Doom is the right villain since Avengers: Doomsday builds up to Avengers: Secret Wars, and I just don't see how they create Battleworld without him. Also, I think Doom is one badass villain, you know, from Valerian royalty to conquering the universe, he always finds a way. You just can't hate him. Read this

Doom is pretty underrated actually. I think he just hasn't gotten any great time to shine in the Fantastic 4 movies, would love to see them actually do something with that character

My point exactly. With the right script and a handy budget, Doom has the ability to beat Thanos by a country mile. Unfortunately, Marvel already cooked themselves when they killed the Kang storyline and then brought RDJ back as Doom. Now there isn't much of the comics they can replicate under current circumstances, so I'm only praying they redeem their storied with Doomsday and then turn Secret Wars into a real banger
