LA Comic-Con Is Hologramming Stan Lee… And I’m Not Sure How I Feel About It

So LA Comic-Con is really doing a paid meet-and-greet with an AI hologram of Stan Lee. Twenty bucks to chat with a digital puppet version of him and take a selfie. Honestly… this just feels weird. Stan deserved better than being turned into some dystopian theme park attraction. Would you guys actually pay for this, or is it crossing a line?

Torishima Thinks DB Super Is Weak… Do You Agree?

Kazuhiko Torishima, Toriyama’s old editor, just went off on Dragon Ball Super and Daima. He called Toyotarou’s manga “bad,” blasted the editing, said a Vegeta story would’ve been better, and straight-up called Daima a “sh***y anime.”

Coming from the guy who helped shape the original series, that’s… a lot.

Do you agree, or is this just old-school bitterness talking?

Are TTRPGs Losing the Table?

So with Wizards of the Coast pushing more and more into subscription models and digital platforms, it kinda feels like we’re losing the table in tabletop. Instead of just grabbing some books, dice, and friends, the big push now is apps, logins, and whatever “official” tools they want you to pay for.

It makes me wonder if we're heading toward a future where you don’t really own your game anymore and instead you’re just renting access from a corporation? Or am I overthinking it and this is just another shift the community will roll with?

Hey there, BIC readers!

The Deadpool & Wolverine vibe has faded, can Avengers: Doomsday change ANYTHING?

You won't catch me holding my breath for a fresh energy in the MCU, I'm with the crowd that sees Deadpool & Wolverine as a unique scenario that the rest of the MCU can't match. She-Hulk, the disaster of Echo and now the absolute faceplant called Ironheart, doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

What do you think? Will Robert Doomey Jr. running around in the MCU fix everything? Maybe a few Burger King burgers for good measure?

Adult Content Crackdown: What Does This Mean for Nitroplus and Eroge Fans?

So, Visa and MasterCard are increasingly refusing to process payments for adult content, especially Japanese eroge. Nitroplus writer Vio Shimokura is saying he still wants to make adult games and find ways to get them to fans, but it’s getting harder every year.

How do you all feel about this? Is it just the way the world’s going, or should fans and creators push back to keep these kinds of games accessible?

You can pick one or multiple!

Pinocchio: Unstrung Childhood Nightmares, Upgraded

So, Jagged Edge Productions is really leaning into the destroy your childhood vibe with Pinocchio: Unstrung. They’ve taken the innocent wooden boy story and decided, “Hey, what if we made it sadistic, bloody, and voiced by Robert Englund?”

I’m curious, does anyone else think this could actually be entertaining in a darkly clever way, or is it just exploiting nostalgia for shock value?

Splinter Cell: Deathwatch

Netflix and Ubisoft are selling Splinter Cell: Deathwatch as Sam Fisher’s big comeback, but it already feels like a corporate remix. They won’t say if it’s canon, Kolstad’s out here talking about “ripping the spine out” of the story, and Michael Ironside’s been swapped for Liev Schreiber.

Yeah, the animation looks cool but is this actually Splinter Cell, or just another Netflix “adaptation” trying to be “modern and relevant”?

MF Ghost Season 3 is happening!

For anyone who hasn’t checked it out yet, this is the spiritual successor to Initial D, same creator (Shuichi Shigeno), and it carries that same high-octane energy, but set in a future where self-driving electric cars have taken over. The old gas engines only live on in the MFG, a street racing circuit on Japan’s highways.

What do you all think? Are you excited for this one?
