Smallville's Allison Mack still blames co-star Kristen Kreuk for introducing her to Keith Raniere's sex cult NXIVM

I still feel sorry for Mack after her ordeal. However, I feel it is high time she took some responsibility for her own actions. I mean, she was over 25 years old at the time, for God's sake. In her first podcast after she left prison, she said it was Kristen Kreuk who led her to the cult after they both felt unsatisfied" with their lives during a break while living in NYC.
Apparently, Kreuk told her “It’s the science of joy. It’s the most amazing thing. It’s made everything so much better in life. You’ve got to do this,”

However, Mack stayed even after she knew what Raniere was doing to his victims, and whatever she went to prison for knowing fully well what the cult was about, and that, sure as day, wasn't Kristin Kreuk's fault.

Yeah, it’s possible to feel sympathy for what Mack went through and still acknowledge her agency. Being introduced to something by a friend isn’t the same as being forced into it, and once she saw what Raniere really was, the choice to stay was hers. Kreuk walking away early says a lot. Blaming her now just feels like an attempt to shift responsibility that doesn’t really hold up.
