Previously on.... as we knew it, will never be the same again thanks to AI!

Previously on.... was actually one of the most important aspects of a show for me while growingup, and still is,, but Amazon's latest AI-upgrade is about to change that. The feature is still on trial, but THR reports that AI will now build a quick summary of important plot points from past episodes to give viewers a glimpse of what to expect. I have a feeling that what AI considers important could not be what we are used to.
I understand, this is not necessarily a bad thing, but it sure is going to replace an important feature of series as we know them. For traditional users, it might actually be disappointing knowing that the intro is just an AI deciding what was important in the previous episode.

Yeah, I get the concern. Those recaps aren’t just summaries, they’re curated to set the tone and highlight what actually matters. Letting AI pick the “important” moments feels like it’ll miss the nuance. Not the end of the world, but it definitely loses some of that human touch longtime viewers care about.
