‘I enter a room and people say: “God just walked in”’: Morgan Freeman on voicing the divine, meeting Mandela – and his six decades on screen
From his humble upbringing in Mississippi to the unmistakeable timbre of his voiceover, the actor reveals why he’s not even considering retirement
Freeman has been doing quite a lot of talking on his media tour for Now You See Me. NOW You Don't. He is reprising his role as Thadeus in the film. When asked about the viral AI actress Tilly Norwood, Freeman said, "People don't like her because she is not a person and has no place in acting. Unions have a job of keeping actors acting."
On his own experience with AI, especially sprawling clones of his voice, Freeman said, “I'm a little pissed off... don’t mimic me with falseness. I don’t appreciate it and I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you’re gonna do it without me, you're robbing me”
He further said that his lawyers have already filed cases against some of the people behind the clones.
