Morgan Freeman is suing the unauthorized creators of AI clones of his voice

Freeman has been doing quite a lot of talking on his media tour for Now You See Me. NOW You Don't. He is reprising his role as Thadeus in the film. When asked about the viral AI actress Tilly Norwood, Freeman said, "People don't like her because she is not a person and has no place in acting. Unions have a job of keeping actors acting."
On his own experience with AI, especially sprawling clones of his voice, Freeman said, “I'm a little pissed off... don’t mimic me with falseness. I don’t appreciate it and I get paid for doing stuff like that, so if you’re gonna do it without me, you're robbing me”
He further said that his lawyers have already filed cases against some of the people behind the clones.

I mean if someone was cloning my voice without asking, I’d be pissed too. He’s old-school, but he’s not wrong, there’s a difference between innovation and straight-up taking someone’s work without credit or pay. Respect that he’s not just letting it slide.

Totally agree with you here. These AI companies are making loads of money by delivering next to nothing, the least they can do is pay the fair price when they use someone's voice. Actually, the more expensive actors make it, the more recognition they will get, because at this rate, I don't think this industry cares about human beings at all. Most of them literally live in a bubble, look at the Tilly Norwood creator for example!
