Is James Gunn's Superman the best superhero film of 2025?

A Forbes article has put out some shining numbers on James Gunn's Superman, including claims that it has made over $100 million in profit, going on to 150 by the end of the year. Now, I haven't verified these numbers, but I do agree that the MCU was a failure this year. Their biggest release, Fantastic Four: First Steps hardly feels like an MCU film.
I still have an issue with the article claiming that publications that Say Superman didn't make a profit are out to influence the buyer's decision of Superman! We had data on the film's budget, and from whatever is known publicly, there is no indication that the film made a $150 million profit at the box office. That doesn't mean the film is a failure, it can be great and still unprofitable!

Yeah the movie was solidly okay, but those numbers sound a little too good to be true. It definitely did well, but I’m not sure it pulled in that much profit. It’s weird how every outlet keeps twisting box office talk into some kind of “win or lose” narrative when a movie can be good without breaking records or being the best of all time

Whenever I think of situations like this, I always think of Dungeons & Dragons. That movie was amazing and unfortunately didn't do well at the box office. There are so many other movies like that that may not appeal to a wider audience but are still critically good or have a cult following behind them
