Far Cry finally gets a TV series at FX

Far_Cry_1_boxshot.jpg

Alien: Earth writer Noah Hawley is taking the lead on this one, and I have a positive feeling. Far Cry could easily become the next big video-game-based TV series. It seems the creation will be faithful to the game too, as it will be released in the same anthology format. Can't wait to see how they bring this dynamic island to life.

Sounds like a solid setup, but I’m trying not to get ahead of myself. Far Cry should be an easy win if they lean into the chaos, the villains, and the whole “paradise gone wrong” vibe. I suppose we'll see though, but yeah I am excited to see what they do here

Hawley can make this great if he reins himself in a little. He’s brilliant, but sometimes he gets so wrapped up in being abstract that the story gets fuzzy. Far Cry doesn’t need deep symbolism, it needs sharp characters, tension, and a sense that things could go off the rails at any second. Still, optimistic that he can do the story justice

FX seems to be giving him a lot of freedom and money here, so I' expecting the most exciting tropical backgrounds and astonishing CGI shots, but I really want the film to live up to the game's reputation
