When I first heard that Noah Hawley was doing a show based on Alien, I thought it would be all dark and more horror than sci-fi, but I have to admit, that show is great. Setting it in an alternate timeline from the film offers all the creative room that has resulted in deep-rooted characters being daveloped, especially Wendy. I'm not the biggest fan of FX's recent excursions with original stories, but I think this one more than deserved a renewal. I hope they won't drag it beyond relevance though!
