  • Second Game Crash?

Nintendo, once the company that saved gaming, is now facing backlash for filing patents that could let it claim ownership over common gameplay mechanics, sparking fears it could stifle creativity and harm both major studios and indie developers alike.

  • So… Doctor Who Just Regenerated Into Rose Tyler?

According to writer Robert Shearman, the 15th Doctor’s regeneration into Billie Piper has basically put a full stop on the entire Doctor Who story. That’s a wild way to end things if he’s right. After all these years, do you think this is a fitting way to close the loop or does it feel more like the show’s run out of ideas?

Torishima Thinks DB Super Is Weak… Do You Agree?

Any time they want to come back around to Uub being such a powerful fighter would be great. New villains would be nice too instead of evolutions of old villains. I think that’s why adapting the later chapter of the Super manga is such a pipedream for fans.

Have you ever watched any Wuxia shows?

Kung Fu Hustle and anything Stephen Chow is great. I’m pickier with my wuxia stuff though since I feel like some take it to the extreme. But I’m down to give whatever I haven’t seen that looks intriguing a try.

Frankenstein creator says he is "a fan of death." A little creepy, but he won't use AI either so I guess I'd take him

This is fine, especially with all the trash going on in the world today. Del Toro seems like a good guy, likes cool stuff, and makes mostly great films. And his stance on AI is more than understandable.

WGA terms Paramount's potential takeover of WB a disaster, but are they really reading the room?

It’s a worst case scenario that will likely happen sooner rather than later. It’ll all likely be owned by Disney sooner or later anyway, which no one will enjoy.

Halloween Specials, did you have a favorite one?

The Simpsons Halloween specials were great for years and generally still (or were as of a few years ago) are the most creative part of the newer seasons.

Jumanji 3 is 35% funded by the state as California fights to keep production in the state, but is it time tax payers got a say on this?

The Jumanji films made a ton of money and are pretty fun for what they are and Heat is an all time great crime film. I can see the appeal and spending this much on those two sequels, but it won’t be worth it in the long run. Financing a dozen or more smaller films with that amount of money...

Charlie Cox confirms he is not Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

I’m to the point where I just want new stories. Like we’ve ridden the nostalgia wave long enough. Some fresh encounters and new outcomes would be nice. The MCU doing more mature material with certain characters would likely really benefit them. I also don’t care about any of the new characters...

    Johny Depp is back

Oh, for sure. He’s made some bangers over the years. There was a time where everything he was in was worth seeing. It would be cool to see him restore that former glory.

Zootopia got everything right, except the popcorn bucket

This is kind of funny since Pochita isn’t even in the new Chainsaw Man movie apart from the opening. I’ve almost caved on a few popcorn buckets, but could never decide what to do with them after their initial use. Display them? Put popcorn in them at home? I’m far too lazy for all of that.

Snyderverse is not dead after all

Let it die. Cavill doesn’t need Superman and Snyder has wild ideas outside of the superhero universe. He should have been able to tie up any loose ends with his 17 hour version of Justice League to get people to sign up for HBO Max.

Darkseid is not the big bad of the DCU. According to James Gunn, there is no single big bad really

I’ve enjoyed the majority of Gunn’s work and will give him the benefit of the doubt, but I disagree. Superhero films, particularly MCU films, need villains that don’t feel so disposable. Being dealt with in one film and not living up to fan expectations is always so disappointing. It’s weird...

Charlie Cox confirms he is not Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

I lost interest after Endgame, as well. Never really fully got back into the MCU other than the random film here and there. Doom and whatever lies beyond those films pales in comparison to the buildup of Thanos. I’m not sure they’ll ever capture that level of interest again.

    Johny Depp is back

I’m interested, but I’m curious how everything over the past few years has affected him. Wasn’t he doing really bad health wise like earlier this year? He’s an undeniable talent that can hopefully make a comeback.

A note on how we want discussions to feel here

Will this community only ever be BIC staff inclusive or will it ever be open to the general public? It seems like everyone currently here can hold civilized conversations, but opening those public doors is when things get ugly. People like to troll and say stupid things on purpose especially...

Charlie Cox confirms he is not Daredevil in Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Will we ever get to the point where a Spider-Man movie doesn’t have a dozen MCU cameos in it? Tom Holland could certainly carry a film on his own at this point, right?

Elizabeth Olsen gives the most ridiculous reason yet for not appearing in films that aren't meant for theatrical release

The turn around window from theatrical to on demand is like three weeks now, isn’t it? I feel like Elizabeth Olsen may be thinking of what happened to Scarlett Johansson with Black Widow. Actors want their work to be seen and theatrical gets more exposure. If it just gets dumped on streaming...

Disney rejected a Star Wars film set after The Rise of Sky Walker because they didn't see how "Ben Solo" was alive

Not interested? No. Why would they be? Nostalgia baiting and rehashing older films in the franchise has become such a cash grab for them that the general movie seeing public falls victim for every time.

Elon Musk's AI creates the best Sci-fi film yet

There is an animated film that is completely AI generated being released soon. I can’t remember if it’s nearing post production or if it’s completed and making festival runs already. I had the opportunity to review a film where the main character was totally AI generated too. So the...

Kristen Bell's 12th anniversary celebration sounds more like a death threat

Some people shouldn’t be allowed to use the internet.

It seems Clayface will be the beginning of DC Horror as Speak No Evil director is picked

This sounds really promising. More horror and original/stories that have never been adapted to the big screen before in comic book movies is always potentially exciting.
