I've never even heard of El Hoyo before now but I am more than familiar with Night Breed and what Fox did to it. It's why I make it a point to read the original story something is based on, if any, before watching it. Fox shot themselves in the foot with what they did, given how cynical and bitter audiences were in the late-Eighties and all through the Nineties. The original version would have been an instant hit. Midian as Barker wrote it was something a lot of people were looking for back then.
