There is no point in going to the theater to watch "Wake Up Dead Man," is there?

Wake up Dead Man is probably the best Daniel Craig action film in the theaters this year, but they have totally ruined the release by making it available on Netflix just over a week after the film hits the theaters. The official poster says the film will be in theaters on Nov 26, and on Netflix on Dec 12, which is just sad for the those who already bought tickets.There is more than enough proof that releasing a film in the theater and on digital platforms concurrently hurts both sides of the film. Think of Marvel's Black Widow! If someone was hoping to catch the tickets and realizes they can stream it a week later, would they still do it? Surely there was a better way to handle this one.

Yeah, that release strategy is wild. Dropping it on Netflix basically a week after theaters kills any sense of urgency for people to actually go see it. If I knew a movie was going to be on streaming platforms a week after theater release I would definitely just wait and save my money

Exactly. And that has a rippling effect on the entire industry, because, right behind every theatrical release is a long list of people depending on a film to make a living. If every major film producer does this, theaters will suffer worse than they did in the pandemic
