Paramount Skydance has been quick to deny Variety's story about David Ellison teaming up with three Middle Eastern wealth funds to fund their $71 billion bid for WB, and I totally understand. Keeping WB intact for that amount is a bargain that most people would take, but then that partnership would really hurt Paramount's reputation. Ellison has been doing his best to front Paramount as the America-first media company, so taking $21 billion to give a share of WB wouldn't nearly tie into that narrative. Trump may have secured $1 trillion in Saudi investment, but don't be fooled, not everyone would gladly hand them Superman, even at that price!
