The Hunt for Ben Solo movement takes the war to Disney Headquarters, but is it really worth it?

Adam Driver's interview with AP in October left Star Wars fans angry when he revealed that Disney's Bob Iger and Alan Bergman turned down a script for The Hunt for Ben Solo even after Lucasfilm had approved it. The backlash has become so loud that an online movement has now been born. In the latest stunt, a plane flew over the Disney HQ parking lot with a banner saying Save The Hunt for Ben Solo. This follows a fan protest outside Disney NY offices and a Times Square billboard message with the same demand.
However, loud as it may get, the final decision to green-light a film lies with Disney, and as much as I don't like how the executives often stifle creativity with their decisions, I really wouldn't advocate for a world in which fan stunts determine which film gets made and which one doesn't. I also don't see the Disney hierarchy caving on this one, although it would have been great to seè that film come to life.
