I just finished watching A House of Dynamite on Netflix and I feel like 120 minutes of my life are completely wasted. Like really, the whole film is about an ICBM launched from somewhere in the Atlantic. The cast, led by Idris Elba (one of the worst displays of POTUS ever btw), has about 18 minutes to figure out who launched it, what the target is, and how to stop it. Surely, the US can launch an anti-nuclear response in 18 minutes, right? Well, not in this film. The teams spend half the time in emotional phone conversations without any significant movement in the plot. Then, to the most disappointing ending to a film I have ever witnessed, we don't know whether the missile ever lands!
Could any film be worse than this really? 2 hours spent speculating the fate of an 18-minute nuclear bomb launch, then you don't give any form of closure, is atrocious to say the least.
